When times are tough and we need the support of others, the media & entertainment community pull together in creative and splendid ways to lend each other a hand, however - as the global coronavirus pandemic escalates and productions have come to a halt, the biggest worry for us all in this hiatus will be cash flow and our mental health.

The nature of freelance contracts provides insufficient protection and although there is no playbook for the current scenario, our panellists will give their best steer on questions the what, where and what next. We'll openly address some of the questions you may have and help guide you through the period of uncertainty, particularly if the production you work on has been postponed or cancelled.   Beyond the hand sanitiser, what are the practical steps you need to be taking and what support is out there?  Where can you turn to? What you need to consider in the short term?  Where do you get funding? What government support is available? What do ‘good’ cancellation terms look like? How to stay sane and creative?  How do you plan long term?

Panellists:

Tony Lennon, Research and Freelance Officer, Bectu

Tom Guida, Partner, Clintons

Neal Romanek, Editor, FEED

Nia Hughes, Organising Official, Bectu

Sara Putt, Owner Sara Putt Associates and Trustee of The Film and TV Charity

Hosted by:
